Three finance ministers changed in three years, increasing external pressure on Pakistan

Whether the new finance minister will be able to handle the glorious economy or not

Whether the new finance minister will be able to handle the glorious economy or not

Islamabad … News Time

The government, which has completed a three-year parliamentary term, is set to overthrow the cabinet for the fourth time. The economy is not recovering from it, it has nothing to do with foreign affairs, it does not understand internal affairs, yet the PTI leadership thinks it is in power. The government has failed in every field, including the economy. Despite loud claims of success, the massive reshuffle in the federal cabinet and the dismissal of the third finance minister just 18 days later and the conditional appointment of a new finance minister in his place show that matters are still under the control of the government. I have not been able to come, with only two years left until the end of his constitutional term. Whether the new finance minister will be able to handle Shaukat Tareen’s economy or not, however, the NAB cases against him on the condition that he has come will definitely end. Elected MP Hamad Azhar has, in fact, fallen victim to a cartel of economists in the country.

The important ministry of information and broadcasting has been handed over to Fawad Hussain Chaudhry instead of Shibli Faraz. Hamad Azhar will be the Federal Minister for Energy. Shibli Faraz will apply ointment on the wounds inflicted by Fawad Chaudhry at the Ministry of Science and Technology. Since Shaukat Tareen is not a Member of Parliament, he will have to become a member of the National Assembly or the Senate within six months to remain in office. He has been appointed as a minister for only 6 months. The new finance minister is definitely part of a lobby. On his appointment, Governor SBP’s statement that the economy is moving in the right direction has come to light. It seems that the powers of the Governor SBP are expected to increase exponentially after the new legislation. The statement of Governor SBP should also be taken into consideration in the light of the fact that Shaukat Tareen had sharply criticized the country’s economy a few days before his appointment that the direction of the economy is not known. What happened was a mistake in the negotiations with the IMF, only raising tariffs increases corruption, raising exchange rates and interest rates drowned the economy. His opinion is on record, so it is important to understand how the country’s economy will be right when the Finance Minister and the Governor SBP will follow two different paths!

The government, which has failed the economic test, is also keeping the parliament unaware of the changes taking place in the foreign affairs sector and especially the progress of the Pak-India talks. The Foreign Office spokesperson said that the talks between Pakistan and India would require third party mediation and India would have to create a conducive environment for fruitful and meaningful talks. This statement is not pointless; it is definitely someone’s message. There is no denying that every major power, including the United States, now wants to protect its interests in South Asia, and that Pakistan is under pressure to understand the dangers. A report presented to the US Congress by the US Director of National Intelligence warns that India, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, could use force against Pakistan, accusing it of provocation. This is not the first time the situation has been identified in the report, but another intelligence report sent to the Congress earlier warned that there was a danger of war between India and Pakistan.

On the one hand, this is a US report and on the other hand, activities are increasing in China, Pakistan, Iran, Afghanistan, Russia and Turkey. To stop them, the US and India are also engaged in new moves in their own interests. The internal situation of the country cannot be seen in isolation from them. There has been a recent development that the Russian Foreign Minister visited Pakistan. Although the visit of the Russian Foreign Minister was very important, despite this visit, there is no big news regarding Pak-Russia relations. Russia has some doubts about Pakistan’s role in Afghanistan. It is also looking at its own interests in Afghanistan, which has strong roots in Russia and is very influential due to its large market. Pakistan has begun to improve its relations with Russia, but the attitude of India and Afghanistan is an obstacle. Russia is seeking a role in the region, so it has held several important conferences. It recently hosted the Heart of Asia Conference on Afghanistan, but has yet to find a role. Only after the Pak-Russia summit can some changes take place.

President Putin has been invited to visit Pakistan on the sidelines of the Russian Foreign Minister’s visit. If Putin comes to Pakistan, it will be a significant development. The Russian Foreign Minister has held talks with Pakistan on the construction of the pipeline and has also announced assistance in the development of the corona vaccine. However, there is no big news regarding his visit to Pakistan. Russia, seeing its role in Afghanistan through Iran, knows that India cannot help it directly. In response to Russia’s efforts, China has reached an agreement with Iran. This decision will be better for Pakistan too. China has a C-Pack-like agreement with Iran. China will also take oil from Iran and include it in the road and belt project. China has signed huge $ 400 billion deals with Iran. The United States has been active since the Sino-Iranian agreement. President Joe Biden wants to restore the agreement reached with Iran in the past. Because of China, the United States is moving towards renegotiation with Iran, but Iran wants to negotiate on its own terms. If the United States had an agreement with Iran, it would be a big change. The United States knows that Iran is close to becoming a nuclear power. Following the Iran-US deal, Israel and Saudi Arabia will also stand in the way of Iran’s becoming a nuclear power. The United States has very little time to make a decision. In this context, there is a need to analyze where Pakistan will stand. Now we have to pause for a moment and take a closer look at the situation outside our borders and our internal security. Wherever there is democracy in the world, decisions are made in Parliament, but in our country Parliament is dumb, deaf and blind. It has been three years now that the Prime Minister and the Leader of the Opposition have been discussing sensitive issues in Parliament.
