Liberal MP Iqra Khalid of Islamophobia and a resolution against religious hatred was adopted by 201 votes, compared to 91 at the Public of Canada. Almost all Liberal MPs and all members of the NDP supported the resolution. Conservative Party members voted against the resolution while most party presidential candidate Michael Chang and member of the Simcoe North MP Bruce Stanton, voted in favor. Liberal Member of Parliament from Mississauga Gagan Sikand and Barrie City Conservative members Alex Nuttall did not participate in the vote.

The resolution made three demands to the government:

1. Islam’s condemnation of Islamophobia and the systematic ethnic and religious hatred.

2. Growing resentment among the public and to try to reduce fear.

 3. The Public’s Heritage Committee will be required to manage all kinds of ethnic and religious hatred every effort to reduce or eliminate completely, and Endeavor, including Islamophobia.
