Tehran … News Time

The Iranian Foreign Ministry has alleged that Saudi Arabia has barred Iranian delegates from attending the Organization for Cooperation of Islamic Countries (OIC). The meeting is being held in Jeddah on Monday, and is to consider the Middle East peace plan by US President Donald Trump in the Middle East. Foreign Ministry spokesman Abbas Mousavi said that Saudi authorities did not issue visas for delegates attending the meeting on behalf of Iran. There has been no immediate comment from Saudi Arabia on this. Saudi Arabia’s government has barred Iranian delegates from attending a meeting considering President Trump’s plan at the OIC’s headquarters, Abbas Mousavi told the Iranian state-owned broadcasting agency. He said that Iran has lodged a complaint with the OIC and accused Saudi Arabia of exploiting its powers to be the headquarters of the organization and host country. Iranian officials have criticized President Trump’s plan to resolve the dispute between Israel and Palestine and declared it inactive after its formal announcement last week.

On the other hand, the Palestinian leadership has also rejected the plan, saying it favors too much Israel. And under this they will not have a viable independent state. It is to be noted that there has been a proxy war in Saudi Arabia and Iran for a long time and the two are competing against each other for their supremacy in the Middle East. Remember that Iran participated in the conference of leaders of Muslim countries in Malaysia earlier. But Saudi Arabia had refused to go there and had allegedly pressured other countries not to participate in it. Remember that Pakistan has apologized in the end, despite its promise to attend the conference.
