Babar Awan resigns as PM’s Advisor on Parliamentary Affairs and Former Prime Minister Raja Parvez Ashraf

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) filed a case against Babar Awan and Raja Pervez Ashraf on delay in the Nandipur Power Project. According to NAB Rawalpindi, a reference was filed against Babar Awan, adviser of Prime Minister Imran Khan and former Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf on delay in the Nandipur project. Former research consultant Shamila Mahmood, in reference, former senior secretary, Dr. Riaz Mahmood, Former law and justice secretary Masood Chishti, Justice (r), former secretary of law, Justice Retired Riaz Kiyani, former secretary Water and Power Shahid Rafi has been named as the accused. According to the reference, due to negligence of all the suspects, Nandipur Power Project delayed due to which the loss of Rs 27 billion to the National Treasury. If the Ministry of Water and Power for the Nandipur agreement asks the Ministry of Law, the Ministry of Law has only given 2 years to give feedback; the investigation proved that the suspects demonstrated criminal negligence. Babar Awan was then Prime Minister and Raja Pervez Ashraf in the PPP’s government. To know the reasons for delay, the Nandipur Investigative Commission was set up in 2011 on the order of the Supreme Court of Pakistan. The commission said in the report that the ministry of law enforcement officials is delayed. The Ministry of Law sent the matter to NAB, which has filed the case.

On the other hand, Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Babar Awan resigned from the post of Advisory Parliamentary Affairs. After the name of Nandipur Power Project, Babar Awan resigned from the post of parliamentary affairs advisor to help the investigation; he has sent his resignation to Imran Khan. In his talk, Babar Awan has said that it is not proper to live as a legal officer to prove the allegations of NAB reference, starting the rule of law with my own self, because the same method of our glorious companion is also the same, instead of being cherished from the chair, the resignation has been sent to the captain so that he can prove his innocence by deducting the court. Prime Minister’s special special Iftikhar Durrani has said that Prime Minister appreciated the separation decision from Babar Awan, Babar Awan Nandipur case will be held separately from the court and investigation will be held again after the investigation is completed.
