Meeting with Japanese and South Korean leaders is scheduled for Tuesday. The meeting will take place after 15 months. The meeting is taking place between Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and South Korean President Moon Jae-in, when there is disagreement between the two countries about trade and the labor of war. The South Korean government announced the details of the summit a day before Christmas. The meeting will go beyond the trilateral meeting with China. Kim Hyun-jong, deputy chief of the South Korean National Security Office, said holding the summit was crucial in view of the growing bitterness in the relations between the two countries. The meeting’s agenda is expected to top two issues, one of which is the recent dispute over Japan’s tightening of control over high-tech material exports to Korea, and the recent conflict in the post-war period.
