Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has recommended the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) to investigate the fake bank accounts case from the Supreme Court of Pakistan. The three-member bench headed by Chief Justice, Pakistan Justice Saqib Nisar Tuesday called on the “Counterfeit Bank Accounts” case. During the hearing, the FIA presented its report in the court, saying that the accused is on the Husain Lawai judicial remand while two other accused, former president Asif Zardari and his sister Faryal Talpur have been involved in the same investigation a day earlier.
Additional Attorney General told the court that today the case is set to form ‘JIT’. The FIA has arrested the suspects Anwar Majeed and Abdul Ghani Majeed. He said that Husain Lawai is under the custody of ‘FIA’ and they are kept on judicial remand while Asif Zardari and Faryal Talpur have been bail. “FIA” told the court on the Chief Justice’s query the trial court has been given to Faryal Talpur however, Asif Zardari has been convicted by the Islamabad High Court. During the hearing Anwar Majeed and Abdul Ghani Majeed’s lawyer Shahid Hamid advocate approached the court that’s the risk of Abdul Ghani Majeed’s life, his illness is intensifying, and treatment is ongoing at Jinnah Hospital. Their lawyer should be allowed to meet him.
The court ruled Abdul Ghani Majeed to continue treatment while dismissing the petition request. The Chief Justice has remarked that the whole country gets troubled if a big person gets ill. Abdul Ghani Majeed will be frustrated. You scared us. Later, the court adjourned the hearing of the case till September 5.
