Microsoft founder Bill Gates fears that 10 million could be killed if Coronavirus spreads to Africa. He said Coronavirus would be more devastating for all Saharan Africa than Ebola although the death toll is not high; its spread is much faster than Ebola’s. He said that it would be very difficult to cope with the recession in the treatment and healthcare sectors in Africa. It should be noted that in recent years, travel between China and Africa has increased manifold and in the past decade flights between the two regions have increased 600x. By 2017, the number of Chinese people working on construction and other projects in various African countries had reached 2 million. Algeria, Angola, Nigeria, Ethiopia and Zambia have the most Chinese population. Given these facts, concerns about the rapid spread of Coronavirus in Africa are being expressed.
