The Afghan president has stepped up efforts to easefiret with Taliban. Dr. Ashraf Ghani has directed all provincial governors and commanders to interact with local Taliban leaders for peace treaties at the district level. According to the information available, tribal leaders are also being assisted in this regard, the efforts of the Taliban and Afghan security personnel have agreed to the ceasefire agreement in Janikhel district Paktia. These other provincial governors started contacting the Taliban leadership. According to sources, a 90-member tribal jirga has been formed in the east of Afghanistan, which will meet Taliban commanders for a ceasefire agreement.

According to reports from Afghanistan, Afghan President Ashraf Ghani on Saturday, while addressing 32 provincial governors, core commanders and police officers from the video link, directed the Afghan Taliban to locally bury them Start talks and get rid of the Taliban in all possible ways. As a result of these ongoing efforts, the Afghan army and Taliban have agreed to fight for the ceasefire between Zadran tribe elders and Taliban commanders of Janikhel district in Paktia. The agreement has been decided that neither the Afghan army nor the US will conduct an air strike on the positions of Afghan Taliban in Jani Khel. The Taliban will not attack Afghan security forces and police in this way, but their claim will continue.

According to sources, Haqqani Network fighters have played an important role in the agreement between the leaders of the Zadran tribe and the Taliban. Because Janikhel is not only the control of the Haqqani network but also the Haqqani Network in eastern Afghanistan. This agreement will benefit directly from the Haqqani Network and speed up the movements of Haqqani network combatants. Sources say that after a successful negotiation in Janikhel, a Grand Jirga held in Paktia, in which 90 tribal elders were elected. These leaders will endeavor to fight aggressive agreements with Taliban fighters in Paktia, Paktika, Khost, Nuristan and Kunduz. According to the sources, the Afghan government is trying to secure peace in eastern Afghanistan, which has been facing insecurity for 17 years. In this regard, the Afghan army officers are also helping tribal elders. However, there is no progress other than Janikhel yet.

According to the reports available, after the instructions of the Afghan President Ashraf Ghani, all the provincial governors have started efforts to deal with the Taliban and to negotiate with them. On Friday, 81 Afghan security personnel in Ghazni have refused to fight against the Taliban by handing their weapons to the government. According to the reports, 90 Afghan security personnel have surrendered to Taliban in central Afghanistan’s central province Maidan Wardak. Maidan Wardak governor’s spokesman Abdurrahman Mengal confirmed that 90 security personnel have handed over other Taliban including 116 rishkoskovs to the Taliban.
