Indonesia’s missing submarine has been traced in recent days. The missing submarine was found in the sea near Bali. Fifty-three personnel aboard the submarine have lost their lives. According to foreign media, it is too early to say what happened to this submarine owned by the Indonesian Navy. However, the submarine was conducting combat exercises north of the island of Bali when it suddenly lost contact. As soon as the disappearance of the submarine was reported, an operation was launched to save the lives of the Navy personnel but no trace of it was found. Indonesian officials also appealed to Australia and Singapore for help. The submarine reportedly lost contact when it was allowed to go deeper. It is one of five Indonesian submarines. According to Reuters, the submarine was built in the last years of the 1970s, after which it was repaired in South Korea in 2012 for two years.
