Representatives from Germany, France, China, Britain, and Russia hold meeting in Vienna

Vienna … News Time

EU calls on Iran to halt ballistic missile program representatives from Germany, France, China, the United Kingdom and Russia held a meeting in Vienna on Friday, according to news agencies, in which EU member states demand Iran to suspend its nuclear activities. The Iranian government, on the other hand, is unwilling to listen to anyone dismissing the US nuclear deal in 2015 and imposing sanctions on Tehran. Earlier on Thursday, Tehran also rejected European countries’ demands to abandon nuclear activities, according to the media.

Iranian officials say the European Union has not played a role in the US withdrawal from the nuclear deal and lifting sanctions, in fact, Brussels’ policy in this regard has been hypocritical. Brussels authorities have been pushing Iran day and night to abandon its nuclear activities, but he has never called on Washington to lift sanctions. Foreign Minister Jawad Zarif said that the three major European Union countries – Germany, France and Britain – have failed to deliver on their promises. We are in pain to protect the three countries from UN sanctions, but so far their performance has been zero. In these circumstances, the EU has no right to make any threat to Tehran or set a deadline for it, analysts say. European delegates say talks on US sanctions and Iranian nuclear program were not closed.
