Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said that Western politicians and the media should stop blaming Islam. He said that terrorism cannot be linked to Islam. If a person commits terrorism in the face of a Muslim, it does not mean that he should be called Islamic terrorism. According to the media, President Erdogan inaugurated Europe’s first eco-friendly mosque built in Cambridge in the UK. He said that after 10 years of efforts, the construction of the mosque has been completed and it will facilitate the worship of the local Muslims there. He said that Turkey has taken the most actions against ISIS so far despite this; the West has declared ordinary Muslims as extremists. The world now needs to fight against hatred and extremism while keeping all linguistic and religious prejudices aside. He cautioned Western political and media organizations to refrain from such statements and announcements, which would spoil the identity of Muslims or followers of other faiths and spread hatred against them in society. On this occasion, Yusuf Islam said that the construction of the mosque is an opportunity for the Muslims of Cambridge.
