Washington … News Time

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo denies signing a peace deal with the Taliban, US media says Pompeo believes signing will be equivalent to recognizing the Taliban as a real political force. The US Journal has quoted US officials as saying that Foreign Minister Mike Pompeo has refused to sign it because of fears over the potential deal. This deal lacks assurance on many important things, the deal does not guarantee the continued presence of US counter-terrorism forces in the fight against al-Qaeda. Nor is there any guarantee that the pro-US government of Kabul will remain, while the end of the wars in Afghanistan is not guaranteed.
