US President Donald Trump approves sending additional troops to Saudi Arabia according to the International News Agency; US Defense Secretary Mark Esper told an emergency news conference in the Pentagon that the US president has approved sending additional troops to Saudi Arabia. He said the decision to send additional troops was made at a high-level meeting of US National Security. The US Defense Secretary said that US troops will also be deployed to the United Arab Emirates; the US Air and Missile Defense Forces will perform only defense responsibilities. He said the United States decided to send additional troops to Saudi Arabia, but the number of troops and the nature of the weapons have yet to be decided.

On the other hand, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff General Joseph Dunford said that the decision made by the United States would improve Saudi’s air missile defense system. He said the army would send a fair number of troops to the Gulf while the troops would not be in the thousands. News agency says US military decision to send Saudi Arabia after attack on oil installations however, the United States has installed Patriot missile defense batteries at Riyadh’s Sultan Airbase, while 600 US troops are already at Riyadh’s Sultan Airport.
