US newspaper The New York Times warns of the ambitions of Recep Tayyip Erdogan in the region that the Turkish president wishes to go beyond Syria (occupation), he secretly wants to develop nuclear weapons. According to the newspaper, Erdogan has a secret program in this regard that threatens the stability of the region. The New York Times says the United States is genuinely concerned about American bombs at Turkey’s military base in lncirlik. Erdogan clearly stated in a meeting of his ruling party in September before the military operation against the Kurds in Syria, according to the newspaper that some countries have nuclear warhead missiles, but the West insists that we cannot achieve it, I cannot accept that.

The newspaper stressed the need to take Erdogan’s threat seriously, when the United States could not prevent the Turkish chief from attacking Washington’s Kurdish allies in Syria. How, then, can he prevent Turkey from following Iran’s footsteps in developing nuclear weapons and acquiring related technology? The US newspaper believes that Erdogan is on his way to a more modern nuclear program, but Turkey is far behind what Iran has accumulated. Turkey actually has a nuclear bomb program, uranium reserves and research reactors. In addition, he has a secret relationship with Dr Abdul Qadir Khan, the world’s leading nuclear network and Pakistan’s nuclear weapons creator. Turkey created Russia’s first major reactor with the support of Russia. What is of concern is that Erdogan did not say how he would deal with nuclear waste that could provide fuel for nuclear weapons. Experts say that it will take years for Turkey to acquire nuclear weapons until Erdogan buys a weapon. According to the newspaper, another alarming aspect of the nuclear issue is that there are close to 50 US nuclear bombs on Turkey’s territory. The US has never publicly acknowledged his presence.

Turkey, on the other hand, threatened to launch military operations again if Kurdish militias did not withdraw from northern Syria. According to the Arab news agency, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu warned that if the Kurdish militia did not evacuate the region before the deadline for the US-granted ceasefire so Turkey will resume military operations in northern Syria. “We have 35 hours and in the meantime, if the Kurdish militia does not evacuate, we will resume operations,” he said. This is also because we have agreed with the Americans. The Turkish Foreign Minister said that the Kurdish rebels were following the American deal and were evacuating the areas that Turkey controls after the October 9 attacks.
