US Department of State has reacted to Hafiz Saeed’s conviction. According to details, the Special Anti-Terrorism Court of Lahore has arrested Hafeez Saeed and his accomplice Zafar Iqbal of the banned Jamaat-ud-Dawa (Jamaat-ud-Dawa) for a total of 11 years in prison and Rs 30,000 in two different cases of terrorism. He was sentenced to a fine. Now the reaction of the United States has come to light. The US has also declared Hafiz Saeed’s conviction an important step in fulfilling Pakistan’s promise to deal with terrorists. U.S Department of State Hafiz Saeed and his colleague responded to the sentence, saying that convicting Hafiz Saeed was a major step forward. The US State Department’s South and Central Asia Bureau say that convicting Hafiz Saeed is an important step in bringing Lashkar-e-Taiba to justice for his crimes.

Hafiz Saeed was arrested from Lahore on July 17, 2019. On September 26, 2019, the UN Security Council allowed the banned leader Hafiz Saeed to withdraw money from his personal account. Yesterday, Special Anti-Terrorism Court Judge Arshad Hussain Bhatta ruled on Hafiz Saeed. The court also sentenced Hafiz Saeed and co-accused Zafar Iqbal to 11 years in prison and a fine of Rs 30,000 in both cases. The court ruled in the two cases against Hafiz Saeed and his accomplice Zafar Iqbal in CTD Gujranwala and CTD Lahore. Hafiz Saeed found guilty of buying, using, and belonging to a banned organization in Lahore and Gujranwala through Terror Financing and sentenced his companion Zafar Iqbal, Hafiz Saeed and the co-accused were presented before the court in very tight security.
