Turkey’s President Tayyip Erdoğan has announced two new military operations in Syria and Iraq after the completion of several military operations in the Syrian majority of the Afrin region of Syria. According to the news agency, the Turkish President said in a statement that after establishing control over the Afrin region and out of the Syrian Kurds, their next target would be Tal Rifaat in the northern evening. The Turkish army is preparing military action in Sinjar city of Iraq. The Turkish President further added that after the control of Tal Rifaat, the Turkish army will move to the border area Trabzon. It was believed that Turkey started groundwater and aerial operations on January 20 in the Syrian region of Afrin. The purpose of this operation was to eliminate the Kurdish Protection Units. This group consists of Kurds and Arabs, and Turkey calls it terrorists, while the United States declares the Kurds as a fundamental factor in fighting against the Islamic State (ISIL).

On March 18 Turkish and its pro-Syrian Syrian groups claimed to have full control over the Afrin region and said that all the Kurdish fighters in the Afrin region have left there without fighting. Turkish Afrin region refers to military operations and its control over the city as the most important for the defense of the northern border. The Turkish President has threatened to enter the army in Al-Hasishah Al-Qamishli in the eastern Syria region in his previous statement. It is believed that Tal is between Rifaat, Afrin region and Maranaz cities, and in the east direction, this city is the center of armed battles. The Turkish President said in a statement that Turkey’s army is also preparing to enter Iraq’s border city Sinjar. The Turkish President’s statement came at a time when the Kurdish fighters went out from the city of Afrin region to other areas.
