In the recent parliamentary elections in the Tunisian Arab country, the country’s religious and political party, ‘Ennahda’, won the highest number of seats in the House. After the election victory, Ennahda is now insisting on the formation of the government. According to Al-Arabiya, Abdel Karim al-Harouni, chairman of the council of Ennahda, said in a statement that the party is ready to form a government after the successful parliamentary elections. In the coming days, the Tunisian government will be headed by Ennahda, he said. However, he said that Ennahda believes in political participation and continues to consult with other parties to form the government.

Ennahda chairman Rachid al-Ghannouchi has started talks with the leadership of the Democratic Party, People’s Movement, Tahia Younes, Alkarama Alliance, Tunisia General Alliance for Labor, Alliance for Industry and Trade and other unions for governance. Abdel Karim al-Harouni said the party would soon start consulting other parties to formally shut down the government. He said that the Ennahda movement is ready for governance and we are ready to work under the principle of partnership power.

Tunisian businessman Nabil Karoui’s party ‘Qalb Tounes’ says his party will continue to operate according to its political vision and program. He said all the rumors posted on social media were baseless, claiming that Qalb Tounes had resigned from parliament. Qalb Tounes says that we will not support any group that considers power in Tunisia as enriching for its political purposes.

It is to be noted that in the parliamentary elections in Tunisia on October 6, 2019, Tehreek-e-Insnahda had won 52 seats in the 217 House. Within a week after Tunisian nominee Kais Saied took oath, he could invite Ennahda to govern. President Kais Saied will take oath on October 23. Kais Saied, 61, is not a Tunisian political player, but a newcomer to the field. He won the election by taking 72% of the votes in the recent presidential election. The second most controversial entrepreneur was Nabil Karoui.
