The Interior Ministry sub-organization of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) Ansar-ul-Islam has issued a ban notification and instructed the provinces to take action. It should be noted that a few days ago, the federal government started a sub-organization of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam; Ansar-ul-Islam had decided to take action against him. According to Interior Ministry documents, the JUIF provided Ansar-ul-Islam for Azadi March the armed forces in the name of Azadi March have been assigned security responsibilities beginning October 27. According to the Interior Ministry, the JUI-operated group comprises 80,000 people nationwide. The interior ministry wrote in its summary that the private armed force was equipped with rods and sticks and apparently intended to challenge the government’s writ. It may be recalled that in the past few days, a video of the Danda Bardar force was surfaced, in which JUIF Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman was being offered a guard of honor and a rehearsal parade was also taking place. Following the parade, the federal government decided to take action against the JUIF subsidiary Ansar al-Islam in view of the security situation.

According to the Interior Ministry, the JUI-operated group comprises 80,000 people nationwide. And it cannot be ignored that the group is also armed with weapons, which not only makes the Federal Capital, Islamabad. In all four provinces, the law and order situation is likely to worsen. According to the Interior Ministry summary, the said force violates Article 256 of the constitution of Pakistan, which prevents the creation of any private armed force. And according to the National Action Plan in view of the increasing terrorism in the country, no armed group of any kind can be allowed to work in the country. Ansar-ul-Islam together with provincial governments under Article 146 of the Federal Government Constitution has the authority to ban and other operations.

It should be remembered that JUI chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has announced a sit-in on October 27 in the anti-government Azadi march and 31st in Islamabad. JUI’s independence march also has the support of other opposition parties, including the Pakistan Peoples Party and PML-N. Meanwhile, PML-N President Shahbaz Sharif has also officially announced his participation in the Azadi March. On the other hand, a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office on Wednesday said that the proposed march of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) would be allowed to visit Islamabad. A meeting of the government talks headed by Defense Minister Pervez Khattak was held on Wednesday. After the meeting, the committee met with the Prime Minister and briefed them on the contacts between the proposed Azadi March and the JUI-F.

According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, it was decided at the meeting that the government would allow Jamiat Ulema to come to Islamabad on the proposed Azadi March. Talking to the meeting, Prime Minister Imran Khan said that the government believes in democratic values. The government has no objection if it is within the scope of the law and constitution enacted by the Azadi March Supreme Court and the High Court.
