South Korean National Assembly Speaker Moon Hee-sang has expressed his intention to introduce a bill in parliament next week over Japan’s forced labor dispute over the war. This bill is about the establishment of a fund to pay compensation to litigants in the country. Moon Hee-sang has said that a bill will be presented with the support of lawmakers from both the ruling and opposition parties. The move appears to be part of efforts to improve tense relations between the two countries. Earlier, as a result of the South Korean court’s ruling, Japanese companies were banned from paying ex-South Korean workers. The Japanese government is of the view that all matters related to post-war diplomacy have been settled under the 1965 agreement between the two countries.
