Prime Minister Imran Khan will depart Kuala Lumpur on a two-day visit at the invitation of Malaysian counterpart Mahathir Muhammad. A statement issued by a spokesperson for Prime Minister House said the high-level delegation, along with Prime Minister Imran Khan, will include cabinet members and other officials. Prime Minister Imran Khan has decided not to use Indian airspace for Malaysia, Prime Minister has not requested any use of airspace from India, the Prime Minister will fly to China, Malaysia on a small plane, from which the Minister Air travel will be 4-5 hours longer than normal. According to media reports, due to the ongoing tension between Pakistan and India, Prime Minister Imran Khan will not use Indian airspace to visit Malaysia. Imran Khan will arrive in China, Malaysia on a small plane. Due to which the Prime Minister’s air travel will be 4 to 5 hours longer than normal travel. The government of Pakistan has not even requested India to use airspace.

Prime Minister Imran Khan will leave for Malaysia on February 3 for a two-day visit. Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Muhammad has been invited to visit the Prime Minister. Cabinet members and a high level delegation will also accompany the Prime Minister. Prime Minister Imran Khan will meet Malaysian counterparts on a one-on-one and delegation level. During the visit various memorandums of understanding and agreements will be signed. Prime Minister Imran Khan will also address the Malaysian think tank meeting. The Prime Minister’s visit will further strengthen bilateral strategic partnerships. This is Prime Minister Imran Khan’s second visit to Malaysia since taking over as the ministry in August 2018, according to the Foreign Office.

Earlier, the Prime Minister visited Malaysia in November 2018, as well as Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohammed visited Pakistan in March last year. The two Prime Ministers also met at the UN General Assembly meeting in New York in September 2019. According to the leadership of the two countries, bilateral relations have deepened in recent years. The spokesman said that close cooperation between trade, investment, industry, defense, education and various international forums has begun between the two countries. He said that the Prime Minister would also highlight the serious human rights abuses in occupied Kashmir.
