US President Donald Trump has frozen all assets of Venezuela’s government which aims to force President Nicolás Maduro to quit power by increasing economic and diplomatic pressure. Venezuela’s Socialist President Nicolás Maduro is demanding the ouster of power by several Western countries, including the United States. However, Venezuela’s ally Russia has warned several times that serious interference in Venezuela’s internal affairs will have serious consequences.

President Trump has also signed an executive order related to further economic sanctions on Venezuela. Earlier, the United States had already banned Venezuela’s state-owned oil company and dozens of key personalities and companies. Fresh US sanctions prevent US companies from entering into any business deal with the Venezuelan government however, these sanctions will also cause companies in countries other than the United States to trade with Venezuela. Admiral Hussein Khanzadi, the head of the Iranian Naval Forces, has revealed that he visited Moscow last week where a secret military agreement was also reached between the two countries.
