Karachi … News Time

The PML-N is currently going through a major crisis on the internal front of its own party, including the PDM. On one side are Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz; on the other side are Shahbaz Sharif and Hamza Shahbaz. On the one hand, it can be called a family political war, but on the other hand, people call it a war between reconciliation and resistance. As a result of what Maryam Nawaz has done in recent days, difficulties are increasing for the PML-N. That is why there is a group in the PML-N that believes that in the current situation, Shahbaz Sharif has to go ahead and play his role. That is, we have to move towards reconciliation. Although many political analysts repeatedly refer to Shahbaz in the PML-N, the problem is not with N or Shahbaz but with the fight being waged by Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz.

Similarly, what the PPP did with the PML-N was not unexpected. Those who are aware of the political situation knew that these two political forces wanted to use each other politically to participate in the politics of power. Therefore, the political mourning that the PML-N is mourning against the PPP now was due to its inexperience or political compulsions that it was unable to understand the PPP’s political card or political maneuvers. The PML-N has suffered a political blow from the PPP, and the PML-N’s strong reaction to it is justified, but in the future, a similar wound could be inflicted on the PML-N by Maulana Fazlur Rehman because if PPP can use PDM to its advantage then Maulana Fazlur Rehman can do the same. But the question is, is the PML-N’s criticism of its allies justified? Surely not. Because the PML-N itself has been trying to settle its political affairs with the Establishment behind the scenes, this process is still going on in one form or another, but due to lack of practical understanding with the Establishment, it has become political suffers from loneliness. The experience of coalition politics shows that political parties value their party or personal interests more than the goals of the coalition. However, after the PPP’s political card, the PML-N is now largely aligning itself with the real opposition and the rhetoric of political civil supremacy as part of its counter-political strategy. According to her, she is capable of fighting this political war even without the PPP.

The problem for the PML-N is that if it stays with the PPP in the PDM or moves with it, it will definitely have to abandon its politics of resistance and adopt a conciliatory approach, otherwise the PPP. Reconciliation card will be more dominant but if PML-N runs its anti-government movement from PDM platform without PPP then it will be very dependent on Maulana Fazlur Rehman, and as a result The PPP can emerge as an alternative type of opposition by uniting some smaller parties. That is, a glimpse into the future can be seen as to who the real opposition is and who is presenting himself as the opposition with the help of the establishment. In the Senate, the PML-N has decided to sit on separate opposition benches along with other opposition parties, and the PDM has not given allegiance to the PPP and the Awami National Party in the alliance over the appointment of the Leader of the Opposition in the Senate. Has issued a show cause notice all this shows that the PML-N has practically decided about the PPP that we have to run our alliance as a separate identity from it.

On the other hand, the PPP has indicated that it will now approach Shahbaz Sharif or Hamza Shahbaz in the PML-N rather than Maryam Nawaz or Nawaz Sharif. The PPP’s strategy also seems to be to divide the PML-N into two. Interestingly, the PDM or the PML-N issued show cause notices to the PPP and the Awami National Party, but the PML-N is unable to say what the reasons for its presence in Punjab were. Together with PTI, they elected their own senators without contest. If the PML-N has to fight a war of words based on its party political power, the biggest obstacle in its path is its own party internal crisis. Although the PML-N is united and has no major divisions, it is clear that a major division among the key PML-N leaders is based on a strategic clash with the Establishment or on the issue of reconciliation. That is why we see a clear difference between the political strategy or the resistance and reconciliation between the supporters of Nawaz Sharif and Shahbaz Sharif in the party. Shahbaz Sharif and his son Hamza Shahbaz clearly and openly disagree with the political strategy of Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz which they believe is based on confrontation.

Currently, Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz seem to be very angry over the PPP’s refusal to resign, but first of all, it is quite certain that the PML-N is committing political suicide by playing the card of resignation from the assemblies. It will not, but if it tries to play this card, it will find resistance from within its own party, as a large faction in the PML-N will not support the resignations under any circumstances. The possibility cannot be ruled out that Shahbaz Sharif and Hamza Shahbaz will be more active on the PML-N front in the coming days.

An interesting situation is that the PPP, which is moving forward with the politics of reconciliation, also wants to go along with Shahbaz Sharif and Hamza Shahbaz in the PML-N by increasing their political pennies, so that in these circumstances, only the reconciliation card can be forwarded. If the political parties, including the PML-N, really want to launch a major political movement against the Establishment, they must first analyze the weaknesses of their internal system. In the presence of a weak political and party structure and contradictions at various levels, the chances of a major movement are slim. In a situation where Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz openly clash with the Establishment, and party president Shahbaz Sharif wants to base the politics of reconciliation, this contradiction of political strategy in their movement is enough for their own political failure. Maryam Nawaz presents herself as an alternative to her father Nawaz Sharif and her popularity is considerable. He said that if anyone has to talk to any party leader after Nawaz Sharif, he has to talk to me and I have the right to decide. This thinking will definitely not be acceptable to Shahbaz Sharif.

Despite her popularity, Maryam Nawaz’s emotional politics and quick-response strategy have done her party less good and more harm. Similarly, many parties in the PDM, including their own party, have reservations about direct criticism of Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz’s institutions and their leaders. According to him, this style of Maryam Nawaz may be a popular card but it may harm her politically as well as her important allies. Now, if the PML-N distances itself from the PPP or wants to separate it from the PDM, then it will not be possible to overthrow the government or send Imran Khan Home, at least from Parliament. As far as the people’s struggle or the movement that could lead to the government’s departure, the possibility of a solo flight is not possible. In such a case, the government will be able to go only if the establishment wants to change something.

This is not possible if the PML-N thinks that it can run the entire PDM on the basis of its political dictation. Maulana Fazlur Rehman already complains that he is the head of PDM but PPP and PML-N are in the forefront of big decisions or political monopoly of this alliance and have kept him politically isolated in many matters. Therefore, even after expelling the PPP, running the PDM on its agenda will not be an easy task for the PML-N because except for Fazlur Rehman, the rest of the PDM leadership is at a distance from the tone of Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz. That is why the parties in the PDM’s 10-party alliance call this statement of confrontation the statement of Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz and Maulana Fazlur Rehman in the PML-N. In practice, the PML-N is caught between reconciliation and resistance. The great success of the PDM movement was the alliance between the two strongest parties at the political level, the PML-N and the PPP, but now this alliance has weakened and is losing its significance. Not only is it divided, but it is dead. In such a scenario, the PML-N’s political options are limited and it will have to fight a major battle alone, but it will not be possible to win this battle without ending the internal contradictions, and in the days to come In the meantime, there will be a clash in the PML-N itself, and in the event of this clash, it will have to be seen which group takes the lead. If Maryam Nawaz really adopts the strategy of going out, then her going out will actually be the success of the reconciliation group in the PML-N.
