Thai Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-Ocha won a vote of confidence from Parliament. According to the German Broadcasting Agency, 272 MPs expressed their confidence and 49 voted against them in the dissent motion against the Prime Minister in the Thai Parliament. Thai students, on the other hand, are busy protesting and demanding the Prime Minister to resign. It is to be noted that there is currently an army-backed government in Thailand and a court recently banned the opposition party Future Forward Party on corruption charges. In Thailand, democratic circles are calling this judicial decision a political one.
