The Nobel Prize for Physics for 2019 has been jointly awarded to three scientists. Among those who won the Nobel Prize for Physics this year were 84-year-old Canadian-American scientist James Peebles and two scientists from Switzerland, 77-year-old Michael Mayor, and 53-year-old Didier Queloz. James Peebles has been awarded the Nobel Prize for research on the evolution of the universe and Michael Mayor and Didier Queloz on discovering a planet around which other planets, like our solar system, rotate. The recipients of the Nobel Prize will be given 7,383 British pounds. Half the proceeds will be paid to James Peebles, while the other half will be jointly paid to both Swiss scientists.
