Japan’s Minister of Environment Shinjiro Koizumi has said he will do his utmost to explain Japan’s coal-fired power policy at the UN Environment Conference in Madrid. Shinjiro Koizumi will attend a ministerial level meeting this week on the cop 25 meeting. At a news conference in Tokyo, he said Japan’s policy on generating energy from Japan’s mineral fuel is indispensable. Japan is facing international criticism in this regard. He said the government would have to consider raising Japan’s target to reduce gas emissions. He said he was ready to deliver a positive message but there are some problems. He added that he would also like to express his views in this regard.
