Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga has called for US assistance in rescuing North Korean hostages. He said he wanted to make sure before his visit to the United States that President Joe Biden was willing to work together to resolve the issue of the release of North Korean hostages. The prime minister said that North Korean leader Kim Jong-un obeyed the United States more than Japan, so the United States would have to take this step towards an alliance with Japan.
