Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has once again failed to form a new coalition government, and has now announced his efforts to abandon it. The right-wing extremist group, led by Benjamin Netanyahu, won only 32 seats in Israeli parliamentary elections last month. For the second time, Netanyahu has failed to get the support of 61 members needed to form a government with other parliamentary parties. Now he has said he is handing back the mandate for the creation of a new cabinet to President Reuven Rivlin. President Reuven Rivlin said after his decision that he would now consult with different political parties and tell them that they want to take over the responsibility of forming a new government by nominating Prime Minister Benny Gantz as Netanyahu’s political rival.

In the parliamentary elections held in Israel on September 17, Benny Gantz’s central ideas Blue and White won 33 seats. Israeli President Reuven Rivlin invited Benjamin Netanyahu to become prime minister for a fifth term after the election. And he was given 28 days for that purpose. Netanyahu and Benny Gantz negotiated last month to form a mixed government but there was no consensus among them. They blamed each other for this.

If Benny Gantz now fails to form a new cabinet, then the Israeli president will ask parliament that it should agree on the name of a candidate for the Ministry of Justice who has the support of 61 out of 120 members. Former Israeli army chief Benny Gantz has the support of 54 members of parliament. Of these, 10 belong to Arab parties. She says she will support Benny Gantz for the ministry but she will not be part of the government under her leadership.
