The closure came into force last night, which will be lifted after midnight. Voting will continue from 7am to 10pm in Israel and other occupied Palestinian territories. The closure will leave millions of Palestinians in their homes in the West Bank, while preventing any kind of delivery of goods to Gaza. During this time Palestinian children will not be able to go to school nor will young people be able to visit their educational institutions, whereas, the workforce and the workers will not be able to leave the house. In order to maintain this curfew status in the Palestinian territories, the occupying forces have deployed additional troops, whereas; check posts have been set up with space restrictions.

It should be noted that Benjamin Netanyahu and former Army Chief Benny Gantz will be the five-time prime minister in the general election held in Israel today. This is the second election this year in Israel. Earlier in the April 9 elections, the Conservative Likud Party of Netanyahu and the Blue and White party of Benny Gantz won 35, 35 seats. After the election, Netanyahu was in a position to form a coalition with coalition parties, but he failed to gain the support of his former defense minister Avigdor Lieberman. Analysts believe that Avigdor Lieberman will also be able to garner support of secular voters this time around compared to previous elections.
