Indian troops kill 70 Kashmiris, including two women and 4 young boys, during the last 200 days of siege in occupied Kashmir. As many as 942 Kashmiris were seriously injured in the charge of pellet guns, tear gas shells and sticks. According to data released by the Research Section of the Kashmir Media Service, 11 of the martyrs were martyred in fake encounters or detention. Since August 5, 2019, at least 942 Kashmiris have been seriously injured by bullets, pellet guns, tear gas shells and baton charges at peaceful demonstrations by Indian Army, paramilitary forces and police personnel in the occupied area.

Thousands of Kashmiris including Hurriyat leader Mohammed Yasin Malik, Shabbir Ahmed Shah, Asiya Andrabi, Musrat Allama Butt, Jamaat-e-Islami chief Dr Abdul Hameed Fayyaz, President of the High Court Bar Association Mian Abdul Qayyum, Naeem Ahmad Khan, Mohammad Ayaz Akbar, Altaf Ahmad Shah, Pir Saifullah, Mirajuddin Kulwal, Farooq Ahmad Dar, Naheeda Nasreen, Fahmida Sufi, Maulana Surgeon Barkati, Qazi Yasir Ahmed, Advocate Zahid Ali, Maulana Mushtaq Wary, Ghulam Ahmad Gulzar, Abdul Samad Revolutionary and Mohammad Ashraf Butt, general secretary of the High Court Bar Association, is detained in various jails in occupied Kashmir and India.

Indian authorities have recently established cases under the black law, the Public Safety Act, in Omar Abdullah, Mehbooba Mufti, Dr Shah Faisal and several other political leaders in occupied Kashmir. Kashmir civil society and pro-independence organizations express serious concern over illegal detention of political prisoners and deteriorating health and appealed to the human rights of the world to contribute to the quick release of all Kashmiri political prisoners. Daily life in occupied Kashmir is badly affected and the military siege by Indian authorities in the region, harassment, cordon and search operation and internet shutdown have adversely affected the economy.
