Only one-third of the 300,000 detained children in the world are in the United States. UN researcher Manfred Nowak reports in the Swiss city of Geneva a UN report titled Freedom at least 300,000 children worldwide are currently detained because of immigration issues, the media said, releasing a UN Worldwide Children’s Review. But of great concern is that only about one-third of such children worldwide are detained in the United States. According to Manfred Nowak and his fellow researchers, the number of undocumented immigrants in US detention centers is close to 100,000.

According to experts at the World Organization, the United States is still the only country in the world that has not signed the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. The UN Convention on the Rights of the Child prohibits the separation of minors, especially young children, from parents. He said, “I can name it inhumane behavior with both children and their parents,” according to Manfred Nowak, the Trump administration’s policy in the United States is therefore condemnable it is violating the international convention by forcibly detaining such immigrant children from their parents on the US-Mexico border. The Washington administration has not commented on the report since its release.
