According to sources, Fazl-ur- Rehman could be arrested on October 26, preferably on the last 4 days of October, because it will be Friday, October 25, and the government cannot take the risk of arresting Maulana before the congregation, because if they were detained before Friday, the JUIF could use the power of mosques. Sources say that at least 8 JUIF leaders can be detained for 16 to 90 days under 16 MPOs. However, party activists can be arrested according to lists prepared by provincial and federal law enforcement agencies on the direction of the Interior Ministry. Sources said that a summary of the ban on Ansar al-Islam has been sent to the Prime Minister for final approval and possibly Ansar al-Islam will be banned on October 26.
Sources say that at a time when this crackdown would be multi-faceted against JUIF when the top JUIF leadership has decided to go ahead with its planned march and sit-in, the government has no choice but to use all the resources, options and options to maintain peace. Sources further said that during the crackdown on JUIF leadership and activist concentration crackdown, mobile phone service will be suspended in certain areas especially Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and partly in Punjab. Phone service in the federal capital will be suspended after midnight on October 30 which will be restored at night on October 31. However, the administration will decide according to the situation.
