The Cambodia government accused the opposition of the main opposition leader Kem Sokha. According to foreign media, Kem Sokha was arrested in a municipal court of the capital Phnom Penh, a few days ago. During the hearing, the court said that secretly engaging with foreigners comes into a rebellion category. However, in case of accusation, Kem Sokha will be sentenced to 15 to 30 years, while his arrest is part of the crackdown against Prime Minister Hun Sen’s opponents. It is clear that on the same day, the main opposition leader Kem Sokha was arrested on the same day, a leading independent newspaper publication was suspended. Prime Minister Hun Sen also accused the opposition leader of conspiracy with American cooperation.
