Finland’s new Prime Minister Sana Marin

Sana Marin, a 34-year-old politician from Finland, a neighboring country of European countries Norway and Sweden, has become the world’s youngest prime minister. While Sana Marin became the youngest Prime Minister in the world, she is also the third female Prime Minister to become Finland. Interestingly, Sana Marin is the first Prime Minister to be formed under a coalition government of Finland’s 5 political parties. And the five political parties involved in this alliance are headed by women. Sana Marin, 34, belongs to the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Finland’s leading political partyand he became Prime Minister after resigning by Prime Minister Antti Rinne last week.
According to the news agency Associated Press (AP), out of 32 members of the Social Democratic Party’s top council, 29 members voted to make the 34-year-old woman prime minister. Before Sana Marie, Antti Rinne was the prime minister of the same political party, and the party had the most votes in the April elections this year. The SDP formed a government along with four other political parties, but Antti Rinne had to resign from the ministry following several weeks of protests by employees of the postal department in Finland. After Antti Rinne’s resignation, other politicians from the Social Democratic Party were also prime ministerial candidates, however, most council members voted for Sana Marin as the new prime minister.
Sana Marin becomes the first Prime Minister to take over the ministry at the age of 34; the second youngest is the Prime Minister of Ukraine with 35-year-old Oleksiy Valeriyovych Honcharuk. The third youngest Prime Minister is 39-year-old Jacinda Ardern of New Zealand. Sana Marin served as Transport Minister until last week before becoming Prime Minister and became the first member of the House in 2015 at the age of 30. Sana Marin was born to a couple with controversial sexual orientation and was raised by her mother. Sana Marin was born to a lesbian couple and is the first woman in her family to receive a higher education. Sana Marin is the mother of a child and lives with her longtime friend from whom she also has a baby.
