Japan’s Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga says Tokyo will continue its preparations to hold the Olympics and the Paralympics at scheduled times this summer. Yoshihide Suga was speaking to reporters Tuesday after an unusual video meeting of the Group of Seven heads. The purpose of the meeting was to integrate these countries’ actions on the new coronavirus epidemic. Yoshihide Suga, the chief cabinet secretary, said that none of the leaders of the G-7 asked for the games to be postponed. He said the government will continue to work closely with the International Olympic Committee, the Tokyo Organizing Committee and the Tokyo Municipality to prepare for the Games.
