Beijing … News time

China’s commitment to include 300 million people in the Winter Games has already become a reality. More than 346 million Chinese citizens have participated in the Winter Games since the successful bid for the 2015 Beijing Winter Olympics in 2015, according to data released Wednesday by China’s National Bureau of Statistics. Winter sports seem to be more popular among the youth, as the 82 million people involved in sports activities are between the ages of 18 and 30, making up 37.27% of the total population. Out of 346 million people, 143 million belong to the eastern parts of the country, 51 million to the northeast, 84 million to the west and 68 million to the central parts of the country. With the 2022 Beijing Olympics, winter sports have become popular in the southern province of Guangdong, as well as in the western Xinjiang and Tibet Autonomous Region.
