Algeria’s former Prime Ministers Ahmed Ouyahia and Abdelmalek Sellal have been convicted of corruption. The court upheld the sentences of the accused, which held the post of prime minister under ousted President Abdelaziz Bouteflika. It may be recalled that in 2019, Ahmed Ouyahia was sentenced to 15 years and Abdelmalek Sellal to 12 years in prison. The court reduced the sentence of former Energy Minister Youcef Yousfi from 5 years to 3 years.
