Malaysia’s new King Abdullah Sultan has emphasized the need for ethnic unity in the country during his ceremonial coronation. On this occasion, Prime Minister Mahathir Mohammed acknowledged the events of ethnic tension in his speechand said that the government has set up an advisory body to strengthen ethnic unity. He said the government would strengthen efforts to strengthen the country’s economy and fight corruption. And will ensure that no one is above the law.

The coronation ceremony of Sultan Abdullah was held at the National Palace in Kuala Lumpur.
