Jerusalem … News Time

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his political rival Benny Gantz have blamed each other on the failure of talks to form a mixed government. The new round of talks between Blue and White, the ideologues of Netanyahu’s right-wing party Liquid and Benny Gantz, have also failed. And there has been no progress between them for the formation of a new mixed government. The party has said in a statement that Netanyahu will now make his final bid for a new government alliance and will notify President Reuven Rivlin. If they fail to form a new cabinet, then Israeli President Benny Gantz will be invited to form the government. Or they will ask the parliament to agree on the name of a candidate for the Ministry of Justice who has the support of 61 out of 120 members. He called the new round of negotiations a disappointment.

Blue and White, on the other hand, have accused Likud of slogans in Netanyahu’s interest, aiming to gain support for another round of elections in Israel. The Liquid Party also reported in a statement that there was a telephone conversation between Benny Gantz and Netanyahuand they agreed to another round of talks between the two parties on Wednesday, but Blue and White have not confirmed the meeting. It should be noted that in the September 17 elections in Israel, Blue and White won 33 seats, while Likud won 32 seats. So far neither of these parties has received the required support of other parties to form the government. However, if a consensus is reached between them, they can form a new coalition government without the support of any other party.

Former Israeli army chief Benny Gantz has the support of 54 members of parliament. Of these, 10 belong to Arab parties. They say they will support Benny Gantz for the ministry, but she will not be part of the government under her leadership. Israeli President Reuven Rivlin last Wednesday invited Benjamin Netanyahu to nominate him for a fifth term and form a new governmentand he was given 28 days for that purpose. If they fail to form the government during this period, they may receive another 14 days. But there is no clear path ahead of him and his chances of becoming prime minister for the 5th term do not seem bright. The blockade of right-wing and Jewish religious parties led by the Likud Party still needs the support of six more seats for a simple majority in the 120-member parliament.

On the other hand, with the protection of the Israeli police, hundreds of Jews forcibly entered the Aqsa Mosque and stopped worshiping Muslims and performed their religious rituals. According to the International News Agency, more than 200 Jews seized by Israeli police forcefully entered the courtyard of Aqsa Mosque, where Jews celebrated religious festivals and performed religious rituals at the beginning of the Hebrew calendar year. On this occasion, the occupied Israeli army tortured and forcibly expelled the Muslims present to offer prayers in the courtyard of the mosque. Members of the extremist Jewish group Gulk were also present on the occasion. The Palestinians chanted slogans against Israeli police and protested strongly. Considering the discriminatory practices of the occupied Israeli police and the boldness of the Jews, a large number of Muslims are presently in the courtyard of the Aqsa Mosque on the appeal of Sheikh Akram Sabri, the head of the Supreme Islamic Authority of Jerusalem. So as to prevent Israel from re-entering.
