The accountability court withdrew the arrest warrant of Nasser Abdulla Hussain Lootah, the owner of a private bank in Pakistan, for making a pardon witness against former president Asif Ali Zardari in a fake account case. According to the newspaper report, UAE citizen and top businessman Nasser Abdulla Hussain Lootah, Faryal Talpur, Abdul Ghani Majeed, chairman of the Omni group and others were named in the fake account case. Before issuing warrant arrest, the court summoned him several times in the case against Asif Zardari. Later, earlier this month, Nasir Abdullah Lutah filed a statement before the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and agreed to become a pardoned witness in the fake account case.

The NAB prosecutor told the accountability court that the chairman NAB accepted the request by Nasser Abdulla Hussain Lootah to become a promising witness in the case. So, as the court indicated action during the hearing, the NAB excluded his name from the list of accused. Deputy Prosecutor General NAB Sardar Muzaffar Abbasi informs the accountability courtthat the NAB intends to file a supplementary reference against Asif Zardari on the basis of new evidence. To which advocate Defense Chief Latif Khosa opposed it, saying that since the case has been transferred from the Karachi banking court, NAB cannot file a supplementary reference.

On the other hand, the accountability court extended the physical remand of former finance minister Mufat Ismail and former managing director of Pakistan State Oil (PSO) Imran ul Haq 11 days. The PML-N leader told the court that the NAB was not conducting regular investigations despite his detention. They complained that they were kept in a small room while NAB investigators did not come for more than 5 minutes a day. He also said he was only allowed to walk for 30 minutes and was kept in a cell 23 hours a day. It is understood that NAB detained former finance minister Muftiah Ismail after his bail plea of the Islamabad High Court in the Liquid Natural Gas (LNG) import case was rejected.
