Babar Awan said that if we had the option, we would have brought Aafia Siddiqui back to Pakistan within 24 hours. He further said that Dr Aafia Siddiqui has been allowed to send an email through which she is in touch with the Pakistani Consul and her family. He also said that Dr. Aafia Siddiqui had spoken to the officials of the Pakistani embassy in the United States on telephone several times.

Adviser to the Prime Minister said that legal action could be taken against those who handed over Dr. Aafia Siddiqui and Emil Kansi to the United States. Senator Mushtaq Ahmed had asked the question whether it is forbidden to meet Dr. Aafia Siddiqui in jail during World Epidemic Covid 19. To be able to the reply said that due to the efforts of the Pakistani Embassy in Washington DC; a special meeting was arranged with the Consul General of Houston on September 24 with Dr. Aafia Siddiqui. Moreover, in this meeting, Dr. Aafia Siddiqui had told the Consul General that her Covid 19 test was negative. He informed the diplomat during the meeting that he had recently been examined by a psychologist who declared him healthy.
