1917 won the BAFTA Award for Best Film and Best Director, honoring the Best Actor in the Joker part of Joaquin Phoenix, while Renée Zellweger was named the Best Actress. The British Academy of Film and Television Vision Arts (BAFTA) Awards took place in London. Leading film and TV stars on the red carpet, Flame Scatter, Prince William and Princess Kate also entered the red carpet.

1917 film based on the story of the First World War, defeating The Irishman, Joker, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (Parasite) and Parasite won the BAFTA Award for Best Film. The Best Director award came in the 1917 director Sam Mendes. He defeated directors like Martin Scorsese and Quentin Tarantino. The Best Actor’s BAFTA Award was won by Joker’s Yoakin Phoenix. Competing for them were Leonardo DiCaprio, Adam Driver, Taron Egerton and Jonathan Pryce. Best Actress Award was given to Renée Zellweger for her outstanding role in Judy. Renée Zellweger won the Best Actress award, beating Jessie Buckley, Scarlett Johansson, Saoirse Ronan, and Charlize Theron.
