Karachi … News Time

This month there will be an interesting and unique view of astronomy in which the planet Mercury (Mercury) passes through the sun, called Mercury transitions. In it, we will see a planet on the face of the sun like a mole, the next time it will happen 13 years later in the year 2032, as it happens 13 times in a century. There are only two planets in the solar system that float in front of the sun, including Venus and Mercury. Earlier in June 2012, Venus sat in front of the sun and several institutions, including the University of Karachi made special arrangements to observe Venus transitions. Although the planet Mercury passes very fast around the Sun, but often its orbit is not in the Earth’s alignment it is either up or down in the background of the sun. That’s why November is a special moment when our Earth, Mercury, and Sun are in the same alignment and we can observe Mercury’s cross.

In this process Mercury will look like a black dot on the surface of the sun, which is equal to only half of the sun’s mass. On this occasion, NASA has told astronomers to be prepared for this heavenly demonstration because it will be a very rare and exciting event. However, all astronomers and NASA experts warn that direct exposure to the sun can cause irreversible damage to the eyes and vision. Therefore, this process can be seen in the mirror of the sun in a water-filled bowl or by using two layers of old X-rays placed in the house. In this way, they will be able to see Mercury slowly moving from one place to another at the sun’s surface.

Crossing of Pakistan and Mercury:

The sad news is that in the dominant part of Pakistan this crossing will not be visible and a glimpse of it can be seen in Karachi and the surrounding areas. At 5pm, 34 minutes will appear in the form of point Mercury on the upper left side of the sun plate. In the next two minutes, it will become clearer and slowly move in the middle of the sun and at 5 o’clock 44 minutes the sun will begin to sink.
