Japanese officials say spending on the Tokyo Olympics and the Paralympics Games has exceeded $ 9.70 billion by 2020. The Japanese news agency reported on the Board of Audit that the spending on the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics Games has exceeded $ 9.70 billion by 2020. The board says the government has spent about $ 9.7 billion on nearly 340 projects over the 6-year period up to March 2019. Earlier, the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics governing committee had said that $ 12 billion in spending was directly related to sports. It may be noted that Japan has allocated more than $ 25 billion for the Tokyo Olympics, but officials have indicated that the budget may increase further. When Japan won the Olympics during the auction, it was estimated that it would cost $ 7.3 billion, according to the news agency however, from 2013 to 2019, this cost is constantly increasing.
