On Monday, the Turkish currency’s Lira price dropped nearly 2% against the dollar. This is the largest drop in the value of the lira against the dollar over the past two months. Trump said in his tweet that Turkey’s economy would be destroyed if Ankara took any military action beyond its limits. Trump’s hint was toward a possible future military operation in northern Syria. According to US agency Bloomberg and British Agency Reuters, amid fears of the far-reaching consequences of Ankara’s upcoming military operation in northeastern Syria, the value of the Turkish lira dropped to $ 5.8050 a pound on Monday. As a result of this progress the value of Sovereign bonds in Turkey has also dropped significantly, the value of these bonds is in US dollars.

According to the newspaper, an American official says the US military knew of the bombing and air strikes by Turkish forces, but it seems that it was all outside the “safe zone”.
