Northern Japan is in the tropics of Tropical Storm Krosa, which is expected to cause heavy rainfall until Saturday in northern Japan. Tropical Storm Krosa collided with western Japan and headed north, causing heavy rains across the country and rivers. The storm killed 2 people and injured at least 49. Gifu Prefecture  Nagara River in the city had 4 boats carrying 20 tourists aboard or damaged. All tourist events were canceled on Friday. Due to the heavy rains in the upper areas, the river water came out. Hurricanes have impacted transportation during the peak of the summer holidays. The airlines canceled around 50 domestic flights on Friday. One passenger said he was afraid the plane would not be able to land because the wind was too strong. But I’m glad I got back home safely. By Saturday evening, 200 mm of rainfall is expected in Hokkaido and 150 mm in the Tohoku area during the 24 hour period.
