The US court has issued summons to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and others on human rights violations in occupied Kashmir. Narendra Modi has been summoned by a district court in the US state of Texas to oppress Kashmiris. Apart from Modi, Indian Interior Minister Amit Shah and Indian Army commander Lt. Gen. Kanwal Jait have also been issued summonses by a US court in occupied Kashmir. The case has been registered under a law in the United States, said Maud Siddiqui, the World News Bureau chief from New York. According to the law, if a relative of an American citizen is tortured anywhere in the world, an American citizen can take action under this law. The case has been filed by a Kashmiri man and woman, whose names have been kept secret. They took the stand that our family was tortured in occupied Kashmir, the father was kidnapped and missing from the day the curfew was imposed, the other application stated that the relative died due to non-availability of medication. It has been reported that there could be no arrests on this summons, but the case could go on. The plaintiffs briefed the court about India’s human rights violations in occupied Kashmir.
