Opposition supporters protest on Election Day President Vladimir Putin and opposition leader Alexei Navalny vote President Vladimir Putin’s backing candidates won in governorship elections in 16 regions, including Sakhalin, in the Far East island of Russia. According to news organizations, President Putin’s own support rate was more than 80 percent, but the pace of pension reform and economic growth has slowed down to less than 70 percent.
