Witnesses said that in addition to the coastal city of Sousse, people also demonstrated in the central cities of Sbeitla and Kasserine against the deteriorating economic situation. Police tears and threw gas shells to disperse the protesters. Police in Jelma, a town in the Sidi Bouzid Governorate, have dispersed youths blocking roads, protesting against poverty and walling off.
