Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, the ruler of the Sultanate of Oman, has issued three sultanate decrees. The Defense Council and the National Security Council have been reorganized. Orders have also been issued for the appointment and promotion of military officers. According to the Omani news agency, Sultan Haitham bin Tariq has issued the first decree and established the Defense Council under his leadership. The Defense Council includes the Deputy Prime Minister for Defense and the Minister of the House of Commons, as well as the head of the communications agency, the head of the Internal Security Agency, the Inspector General of Police and Customs, and the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces. The Ja’abob Defense Council of the Sultanate decree will be responsible for all matters relating to the security and defense of the country. According to the Omani news agency, Sultan Haitham bin Tariq has formed the National Security Council by issuing a royal decree. Its president will be the ruler of the Sultanate of Oman, while its members will include the Minister of the House of Commons, the head of the communications department, the head of the Internal Security Agency, the Inspector General of Police and Customs, and the Chief of Staff of the Omani Armed Forces.

According to the Sultan’s decree (Mussalam Mohammed Taman Ja’abob) the National Security Council will be responsible for all issues related to the security of the country. It may also invite non-members to its meetings. Sultan Haitham bin Tariq issued the third decree appointing Brigadier Nasser Saleh Saud al-Ma’awali as Major General and Secretary General of the National Security Council. Brigadier Sulaiman Khalid Sulaiman al-Zakwani was promoted to the rank of Major General and made Secretary General of Military Affairs, and Brigadier Muslim Mohammed Taman Ja’abob was promoted to the rank of Major General. The commander of the force has been appointed.
