Presidential elections in April have been postponed for a few months. Abdul Aziz Ibrahimi, deputy spokesman of the Election Commission of Afghanistan, told the media elections have been postponed for technical reasons. He said that the issues which were postponed due to the issues were carried out during the parliamentary elections in October. On the other hand, in Kabul with his Afghan counterparts Hamdollah Mohib Ali and Shamkhani, secretary of the Iranian National Security Council, saidIran and Afghan Taliban will continue to negotiate for peace and security in Afghanistan. They support the ISL terrorists from the US and some of the poor countries in the region in Afghanistan and emphasized the need for practical steps to prevent the risks that arise. Ali Shamkhani said that to ensure security of joint borders between Iran and Afghanistan Border checkpoints need to be increased and strengthened. Afghan President for National Security Hamdollah Mohib said that the commitment of Afghan nation and government against terrorism is strong. He further added that the Islamic Republic of Iran has always played an important role in the region’s security and in order to resolve security issues, cooperation between the two countries has a great deal of importance.
